In 11 days the Nintendo Wii U will hit store shelves. Needless to say it has yet to be determined if the company’s next gen console will be a success or a flop. We’ve managed some hands on time with the Wii U and we have yet to be blown away by the gaming console, even though it includes a giant controller with a built-in touchscreen display, which should add a new dynamic to two player games much like the first Nintendo bundle that shipped with the accompanying robot.
Until 11/18 you’ll have to settle with this unboxing video performed by none other than Nintendo themselves. We had sort of hoped “unboxings” had gone the way of the “planking” and “duck faces”, but Nintendo seems to be pulling out all the punches to try and stir up as much press and chatter about the HD enabled Wii U.
In case you forgot, the base model Wii U will retail for $299.99, and will ship with 8GB of storage, the white Wii and Wii U Gamepad. If your’e willing to throw down an additional $50 you’ll score 32GB of storage a black Wii U, black Wii U GamePad, GamePad cradle, Wii U console stand, and Nintendo Land. Gamestop was offering a pre-order special for those willing to take a jump early, as well as extra benefits for those that are Gamestop loyalists.
