The launch of the Wii U has come and gone.  Stock remains few and far between, unless you’re willing to pay a hefty premium via Ebay or Craigslist.  Or you can head North and pick up the Wii Mini on December 7th.

It’s a Canada Best Buy exclusive, and no, I don’t expect it to come State Side ever.  Aside from the new finish (red and black) the motorized disc tray has been dumped in favor of a manual top loading one, similar to that of the Dreamcast. We’re not sure on the exact measurements of the system itself, but it does look awfully petite.  Course, with that small frame comes some caveats, such as zero Internet connectivity, and it is not compatible with Gamecube games like its big brother, the Wii.  It is however compatible with the full array of Wii games, which total a whopping 1,300.  Included in the $99.99 price tag is a the console, sensor bar and a Red MotionPlus controller with Nunchuk.

Please don’t confuse the Wii Mini with the Wii U.  They’re not the same console.
