Waiting to get a new iMac?  Wait no more, as they’ll ship on November 30th.  That’s right, the impossibly thin (just 5mm) all-in-one computer from Apple goes on sale – finally – this Friday.

Included, aside from the an ultra svelte body and powerful processor, is Apple’s Fusion Drive (only available in the second tier or higher model).  The Fusion Drive isn’t new tech, but it’s a new branded piece of kit for Apple.  It combines a 128GB SSD with a traditional spinning 1TB (or higher) hard disk.  The result is ultra fast read and write times without the caveat of limited storage, as often found with solid state drives.

There are a total of four configurations available:

  1. 21.5-inch iMac with a 2.7 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.2 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M for a suggested retail price of $1,299.
  2. 21.5-inch iMac with a 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M for a suggested retail price of $1,499.
  3. 27-inch iMac is with a 2.9 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M for a suggested retail price of $1,799.
  4. 27-inch iMac with a 3.2 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6 GHz and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675MX for a suggested retail price of $1,999.
