JBL Soundfly Airplay Speaker Ditches All the Cords
Cords can be so frustrating, right? They get tangled, people trip on them, they rip, and lead to a whole assortment of other issues that we just can’t possibly think of.
JBL’s newest speaker, the SoundFly Air ditches the cords – all of them – and plugs directly into the wall much like a night light. Instead of using Bluetooth, or an audio input, this less then 4-inches long speaker utilizes Apple’s Airplay technology to receive audio. Course, you’ll need an iOS devices, or have iTunes up and running on your computer to use it, but given its diminutive size it’s obvious that JBL is going after those with iOS devices since the Soundfly is very portable at just .9lbs, about the same weight as the Jambox.
For those seeking a bit more customization, at least in terms of the output, there is an accompanying app allowing you to influence the bass, treble, as well as the DSP settings. It’s a shame there is no battery, but there is a power rating of 20 watts, which should produce some sizeable output despite the SoundFly’s rather small and unsuspecting size. That said, you can sync up to four of these little suckers and listen to tunes simultaneously throughout your home.
The JBL SoundFly can be preordered now for $199.
