The words “James Bond” are synonymous with a number of things. The first that comes to mind are the ladies featured in the films – Pussy Galore takes the cake in my book. Following that is the characters iconic saying, “Bond, James Bond,” when asked his name. Third, and probably the most tangible, at least in terms of acquirement, is the original James Bond car in the 1964 film “Gold Finger”.
As I strutted through one of the two concourses at today’s 2012 Auto Show in LA, I happened upon what appeared to be the original 1964 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, complete with bullet proof glass, machine guns, and ejector seat. The number plate BMT 216A was also present, as seen in the film, adding further proof that it was one of the two original vehicles. Unfortunately, I didn’t stop long enough to authenticate the car, but from all angles it looks to be the real thing.
