We didn’t think Sprint, the NOW Network, would be the first to nab the 4G enabled iPad Mini and iPad 4, but that’s exactly what the history books will show.

Starting tomorrow, as in Friday the 16th, Sprint will sell both tablets to Sprint customers, though according to the carrier quantities will be very limited.  So limited in fact that Sprint will be selling $50 gift cards to those that stand in line (yeah, right) and don’t score one of their own.  With that $50 gift card in hand they’re guaranteed an iPad of either type when the next batch rolls in, provided of course you’re not too far back in the line.

Sprint’s data pricing starts at $15 a month and will net you a mere 300mb of bandwidth.  However, preexisting Sprint customers will have access to a 1GB plan for the same price.   For serious web surfers, and those on the road more days than not, Sprint provides a 12GB plan for $80, with two other bandwidth tiers some where in the middle with relatively competitive pricing.

The iPad Mini with 16GB of storage and 4G connectivity costs $459.  The iPad 4 with Retina and 4G starts at $629.  Other carriers are expected to sell them in 2 weeks and 7 business days, respectively.
