We’ve seen our fair share of dog gadgets over the years.  From the weird, like the Doggie Poop Trap; to the practical, like the Tug Preventing Dog Leash; to the questionable, such as the Rapidbath Dog Washer.  Adding to that ever-growing list is the Cool Down Doggie leash.

At the core of this product is a traditional, albeit brightly colored dog leash.  What separates it from other canine restraints is a built-in mister and water bottle reservoir.  You see, the leash is lined with tubing, and at the end of that tubing, right behind the dog’s head, is a mister.  One pull of the Cool Down Doggie’s trigger releases a cooling spray of water that should keep your pooch cool on hot summer days and shouldn’t be so harsh as to annoy them.  The whole system is built upon the premise of flash evaporation, which is said to reduce the air’s heat and thus the ambient temperature.

To create the misting effect you’ll need to cock the built-in pump a few times, which draws water from a 10oz container that can double as a water bowl.  The leash is 5-feet long, and should be durable enough to withstand even the most hyper of canines.

Amazon sells it for $15.
