Its really hard to argue against this pricing Dell is setting up for their pre-Black Friday deal. At $699, this Dell XPS 8500 desktop is at a solid price and is the exact model in the printed ad Dell released (in the printed Black Friday ad, Dell has this desktop listed at $699 without monitor).

So what do you get for $699 with free shipping?

The XPS 8500 config comes with a 3rd Generation Ivy Bridge Quad Core i7 (whew, long name), which clocks in at 3.4 Ghz and can turbo all the way up to 3.9 Ghz. The machine also comes with a discrete GPU in the form of the Radeon HD 7570, a pleasant surprise at this price range. While the 7570M is a low-range GPU, its fast enough to handle light gaming without any issue with the high-end i7, plus you can easily replace it in the near future.

This desktop also comes with plenty of RAM at 8GB and you get a relatively fast 7200 RPM SATA III hard drive with 500GB of capacity. There’s enough bay slot and with SATA III support and the low prices of SSD, a boot drive SSD of around 128GB+ will do nicely to supplement this machine. Finally

At the current price range, this XPS 8500 makes for a good argument in buying a pre-built given the price is fairly close to what you can get now even if you build out the components yourself. Deal has no expiration date thus far but we suspect it may expire before this Friday.

Dell XPS 8500 Core i7, Radeon HD 7570M, 8GB, Windows 8 – $699!
