Less than a year ago you’d be hard pressed to find a massive LED TV from any manufacturer, even the cheapo knock off ones. Not any more. Today, Vizio stepped in, and stepped it up mind you, and now offers their 60-inch Razor Series LED Smart TV, the E601I-A3, for $999.99. Sure, the five 9s is more for selling effect, since they can very well say for “under a grand”, but either way you cut it, that’s an astoundingly low price for so much set.
Unlike some of Sammy’s LED TVs, which can measures less than a half inch thick, Vizio’s 60-inch is 1.94-inches fat. Not really a deal breaker, but since there is an emphasis on RAZOR in the name we thought it only fair to point it out. That said, there are the usual array of Smart Apps, which include access to Netflix, Amazon VOD, Hulu Plus, Vudu, Facebook, and those alike. Built-in WiFi will get you connected in a snap, while an included QWERTY remote control means you can flip channels, or flip the remote and hammer out a Tweet or Facebook update without pecking for the letters in an on screen menu.
Other features include a slim frame, 120hz refresh rate for sporting events, a full HD video resolution, an ambient light sensor to adjust the TV’s brightness on the fly, 2 USB ports, 4 HDMI ports (2 on the side, 2 on the back), a 4ms response time, and a reported 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio (this latter spec really doesn’t mean much).
