All kids yearn for the opportunity to fly remote controlled airplanes and helicopters.  Sadly, they’ll usually destroy them on their maiden flight, since many of them aren’t designed to withstand the rigors that come with a child at the stick.

That is unless of course they’re piloting this Space Ball.  It’s effectively a helicopter inside of a protective, spherical cage.  So not only does it protect the motors and propellers, but prevents it from chopping through surrounding items, and perhaps even wrapping up hair.  The remote looks pretty robust for a toy of this ilk, which apparently costs just $80.  However, it connects to the Space Ball using infrared, so flight height and distance will be limited to a few feet within your proximity.  Yet, despite that one drawback, there is a gyro which will keep it up right and bring it up right even if you awkwardly land it.
