Tesla Model S vs. BMW M5 (video)
Can a “green car” take out a mean machine built for speed and performance? Well Automobile Magazine was thinking just that when they created a video of a drag race between a Tesla Model S Performance against a BMW M5 at a drag strip. Both a beautiful machines, but Tesla’s Model S Performance is an electric vehicle, while the M5 is a regular gas guzzler.
On paper, the M5 is said to go from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds when equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and pushes out 560 ponies from its 4.4-liter V8. Tesla says their Model S Signature Performance edition can do that in 4.4 seconds with its battery-operated engine that dishes out 416 hp.
As you’ll see in the video, it seems that just because a car is green doesn’t mean it can’t haul ass since it edges out the German machine on the drag strip!
