iPhone cases are every where we look. And now that the iPhone 5 has launched, companies are quick to release yet another iteration of an already existing case to match the specs of the now longer and thinner Apple handset. Take a look at your iPhone case and ask yourself how much utility you get out of it? Probably not nearly as much as the ReadyCase.
So when we first received an email about the ReadyCase we met it with skepticism. After all, there are a million iPhone cases on the market already and most if not all of them don’t differentiate themselves from one and other. The ReadyCase on the other hand is the Swissarmy Knife of iPhone cases. In fact, it sports a built-in multi tool that has a serated blade, standard blade, flat head screwdriver, and bottle opener. In addition to that there is a magnetic lens attachment for up to three lenses (wide, macro, and fisheye), a USB stick (8GB or 16GB) which doubles as a multi-angle kickstand, and a headphone wrap (they’ve got an iPhone 5 and 4s version available).
To be candid the additional lenses do not integrate or fit directly into the case, so you’ll need to carry those around in your pocket. The blade portion, which comes in black or silver (your choice) is fully removable, and while that makes it easier to lose, it also makes it a bit more useful for cutting rope, opening bottles and other things. But more importantly the ReadyCase is just 3mm thick, so it shouldn’t over encumber your pocket, or negate the slimness of the new iPhone 5.
To get one you’ll have to drop $50, via Indiegogo, which is something like Kickstarter.
