LG has had a rather low key presence in the recent past when it comes to Android handsets. However, that is all about to change, if it hasn’t already, thanks to the impending arrival of the LG Optimus G. We’ve got our hands on review units for both Sprint and AT&T last Friday, though at the time we didn’t know when the public would actually be able to purchase the quad-core Android handset.
Starting November 2nd, AT&T customers (no word from Sprint yet) will be able to purchase the LG Optimus G for $200 on contract. Screen wise we’re looking at a 4.7-inch IPS based LCD with a pixel density of 318. The quad-core processor is clocked to 1.5Ghz, which is further supported by 2GB of RAM. Other features include an 8-megapixel camera that can capture full HD video, a front facing 1.3MP camera, GPS, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, a 2100mAh battery, and Android 4.0.4.
We should have a first impression up sometime tomorrow, with a review following not too long after.
Update: Sprint just emailed us. The LG Optimus G will arrive on the Sprint network on November 11th for the same price.
