And there it is. Apple today confirmed that they are in fact holding a press event on October 23rd, which is exactly one week away from today. Unfortunately, they haven’t explicitly told us what they’ll be launching, but all evidence seems to indicate an iPad Mini. Other rumors have suggested a Retina Macbook Pro measuring 13-inches, though we’re very skeptical since a high resolution screen of that size might be unbearable from an eye sight perspective.
Nevertheless, we’ve already told you that we’ve got an inside source that has seen the iPad Mini up and running. He (or she) wasn’t able to confirm the existence of a Lighting connector, but at this point its the new Apple standard, so anything else just wouldn’t make sense. We’re really not sure what other features to expect, though we’d like to see 4G connectivity. But given what we’ve understood to be “super slim” design, there may not be room for the appropriate chip, at least upon launch. And although we can’t say for sure what the screen size will be, the market has been flooded with 7-inch tablets every where we look, so we’re confident in assuming that the iPad Mini will sport a screen of this length.
