Olympus advances their press assault with the line-blurring new Olympus STYLUS XZ-2 iHS digital camera. It’s a “ultra-high” image quality marvel in a compact digital design. The company is billing the SYLUS XZ-2 iHS digital as the new flagship high performance point-and-shoot. So you can expect professional grade DSLR fine tuning control in a surprisingly diminutive form factor. But that ain’t all!

The Stylus XZ-2 iHS is a speedy 12 megapixel camera. Using a rich set of features and the same TruePic VI processor bequeathed from the OM-D E-M5 system, Olympus promises “faster recovery time and shutter release to capture images with true-to-life colors, rich details and low noise.” This is but again, another camera impressively tempting less seasoned photographers, who may be adverse to the intricacies of lighting and noise avoidance. Touted, are powerful tools to capture rich vivid images in low light settings.

There are number of other standouts on the STLUS XZ-2 iHS digital camera. Olympus is rolling the dice with a 1-of-kind control ring. It will allow for easy switching between analog and digital. A unique design allows the ring to dual function as an analog zoom ring or a digital control for exposure related adjustments. Plus Olympus is pushing a wide scope of settings customization options and functions. Hopefully the end result will yield a host of onscreen settings that empower but don’t distract from the action.

Enhanced auto focus, 920,00 dot CLS screen, shake and blur reduction, 1080p playback, numerous art filters smartphone sharing fuctions, WiFi and more are just a few of what Olympus has packed in the super compact and portable STYLUS XZ-2 Digital camera.  But don’t take my word for it.
