Kristie Bertucci is an L.A.-based writer, who can't live without her MacBook Pro. When she's not writing, she's either reading or shopping (online, of course) and loves lazy days so she can catch up on her DVR-recorded shows and movies. She's definitely a Mac girl, she loves music and is currently on a mission to to have an insane and enviable iTunes library.

  1. I have been using Mog for over a year. I used to have napster before rhapsody bought them and closed them down. I like the fact that I can listen on my muliple devices without Mog bugging me for more money or to register them. the catalog is better than Rhapsody. i tried Rhapsody for a few days but stopped when some artists were on Mog but not rhapsody.

My only complaint is that the MOG app needs a lot of improvement. Eg lack of good buffering can be an issue. Sometimes it stops playing when driving which is annoying and can be dangerous. They did have an app that I loved on my samsung blu ray but that stopped workign and they removed it. Overall I am happy, but I will keep checking for better options for streaming. It sure beats iTunes and the stupid pay and download model where you constantly have to back up 1000’s of music files.

  2. One of the things that really gripes me about MOG is that you can’t download for offline listening to your external SD card if you phone has one. I have an Android Galaxy Note II with a 64GB external card and MOG doesn’t have a setting for allowing me to download music to it. Big negative in my opinion.

I have been using Rhapsody for several years, but it is not compatible with my new HTC One X; MOG came on the phone. I was a little hesitant about the new service, but this review put me at ease. Thanks for the comparison.
