Printing your iPhone pics has long meant connecting to an Airprint compatible printer, or a router that boasts the capabilities. Heck, we’ve never even printed anything directly from the iPhone so we can’t attest to the experience from a first hand perspective. That said, we’re not sure we’d ever need to, though given half the opportunity we’d probably hand out photos at the end of the night. After all, there probably isn’t a better way to score a telephone number, that or be accused of being the “creepy guy”.
Here to help you score some digits is the Impossible Instant Lab. It’s not exactly what we’d deem portable, especially in our tablet, smartphone world, but since it folds up you could very well get tossed it into a back pack – it looks to be the size of a traditional Polaroid camera from the 80/90s. The printing process is actually quite simple. You simply capture a photo, fire up the accompanying app, expand the collapsible head, place your iPhone into the Labs clutches, open the shutter, close, and walla you’ll be able to watch your photo print in a retro 80s like way. Course, you’ll need to invest in Polaroid paper, so it’s not exactly a hobby that the cheap or frugal should take on. Nevertheless, there is nothing quite like a Polaroid, or at the very least shaking one.
The Impossible Instant Lab is a Kickstarter project. If you want in on the action you’ll need to drop $189.
