Land Rover has released info on its new 2013 Range Rover model, which is a lot lighter and has better MPGs than previous models, as well as lots of new features leading up to its 2012 Paris Motor show debut! Scheduled to hit dealerships this December, the new Range Rover is fitted with an all-aluminum chassis that helps it shed 926 pounds compared to the 2012 model, making it 39 percent lighter. It’s also the first time high-strength AC300 aluminum is used in an automotive application.

Under the hood is the model’s new ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission that’s mated to either a 375-hp 5.0-liter V-8 in the standard model, or a 510-hp supercharged unit in the range-topping trim level. Performances times for 0-60 mph are 6.5 and 5.1 seconds for the standard and supercharged models, respectively.

The inside features just as much luxury as previous models with a few updates like more rear legroom and windshield and side glass are acoustically laminated for a quieter cabin. It also has the Evoque’s Meridian audio system that’s offered in three levels, with the highest one featuring 9 speakers. A surround Camera System is new, and includes T Junction view, trailer reverse park guidance, and trailer hitch guidance. Customers can also customize their own Range Rover with a total of 37 exterior paint finishes are available, 22 of which are specific to the Autobiography program. Drivers can choose one of 17 interior color themes, and mix and match from the three available interior veneers (more choices will be offered after launch), three headliner colors, two available roof colors, and eight alloy wheel designs that range in size from 19-22 inches.
