It’s been a long time since we broke out our Leatherman tool, and probably rightfully so, since every time we attempted a job it ened up closing on our hand. That, and it’s a bit rusty after years of use in the Boy Scouts.
Well, it turns out that the Leathermans of today are not all like the Leathermans of a time past. For starters, their newest, the OHT, can be operated with just one hand. That means you can open and close blades with one hand, torque the bejesus out of a lug nut using one hand, or fold it away for safe keeping with one hand. Leatherman has also seen fit to add a spring action to a variety of the tools, such as the needle-nose pliers, which should take some of the pain and suffering out of the process, as well as the fatigue. The blades, as well as the tools now lock into place, so as you attempt to saw through that tree branch it will no longer suddenly fold closed. And much like the Leathermans of a time past, this one includes a whole bevy of tools backed by a 25 year warranty fit for even the most versatile of men:
- Spring-action Needlenose Pliers
- Spring-action Regular Pliers
- Spring-action 154CM Replaceable Wire Cutters
- Spring-action 154CM Replaceable Hard-wire Cutters
- 420HC Knife
- 420HC Serrated Knife
- Phillips Screwdriver
- Small Screwdriver
- Medium Screwdriver
- Large Screwdriver
- Strap Cutter
- Can Opener
- Bottle Opener
- Oxygen Tank Wrench
- #8-32 Cleaning Rod Attachment
The Leatherman OHT should be available soon in Desert Tan and Black for a yet to be disclosed price.
