Yesterday, we showed you a device called the Bladepad. It is effectively a game controller for your iPhone that includes the same button configuration as found on your PS3 or Xbox 360. Unfortunately, it’s a Kickstarter project, which means it won’t be made available until later this year, if at all. Furthering that, it’s designed specifically for the iPhone, so Android users can look else where. Which now looking back isn’t such a bad thing.
The GameKlip attaches Sony’s PS3 controller to many Android devices. At the end of the day it’s simply a piece of plastic that holds your smartphone directly above the controller. But that’s the beauty of this product; simplicity. And not for nothing, it is laser cut and “thermoformed to the controller and phone.”
That said, there is an Android app called Sixaxis Controller by Dancing Pixel Studios. Some phones, those with Root access, can connect wirelessly via Bluetooth, while some of you will have to seek a wired USB connection. In any event, you can repurpose your $60 PS3 controller and play games on your Samsung S3 like a boss.
The GameKlip is available now for $15. The Sixaxis Controller app is available for $1.99 in the Google Play store.
