The EcoXpower from EcoXGear includes not only an ultra-bright LED front headlight and red rear taillight, but two USB ports for charging your smartphone while you ride. According to EcoXGear, the EcoXPower will attach to most standard and over sized hubs, so in theory it should work with your bike. Also included in the $100 package is a handlebar mountable, water resistant, touchscreen compatible case. So if you happen upon inclement weather, your iPhone (or GPS device) will remain safe (and dry). EcoXGear has also provided a remote control, wired switch for turning the LED lights on and off, as well as a built-in battery, which means whenever you’re pedaling you’re accumulating juice for powering the lights, which should last up to 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, that battery, which is 700mAh, doesn’t seem to charge your connected gadgets, which is odd considering its size. For safety’s sake, you might want to now the light specs: front light: 1W 80 LUX White LED; rear light: 2 x S/B Red LED. The EcoXGear is available now.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
