In 1947 my Grandmother taught me how to warm the butter knife by balancing it in the spout of the kettle. When the kettle whistled it was ready to spread even the coldest butter. She could wash the knife with the usual washing up. It never had flat batteries. Never had to throw old batteries away. We didn’t have dishwashers in those days but I bet this gadget wouldn’t be much good after a few round with a modern dishwasher! BAD IDEA!
