Kyocera Hydro Release Date and Price for Boost Mobile Announced (product release)
So beating the heat this summer, and there is a lot of it, will probably mean you backside down in a pool. Sadly, your phone has a strong likelihood of taking a similar dip, especially the more time you stay by the water’s edge. According to a recent report, more than 82 million phones have met their demise due to water damage, with most of those supposedly meeting their maker during the warmer months.
Here to help is Boost Mobile. Starting August 3rd you’ll be able to pick up the Kyocera Hydro for $129.99 without a contract. Not bad for a IPX5 and IPX7 rated smartphone, which means it can survive a dip in the toilet or really any body of water that isn’t any deeper than 3-feet for up to 30 minutes. This Android handset will ship with ICS, a 1Ghz Qualcoom Snapdragon processor, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, WiFi, GPS, and a 3.2mp camera. Okay, so family pics will have to be relegated to a stand alone camera, but this might be the ideal phone for that teen that has a tendency to spill on their electronics. Plus, the service is only $55 a month, and drops by $5 every 6 months you don’t miss a payment, bottoming out at $40 a month.
