Call it a coincidence or perfect timing, but Aspid has finally revealed their production version of the GT-21 Invictus and it so happens to look a bit like Batman’s sleek Batmobile Tumblr from The Dark Knight Rises. The very futuristic sports car has a BMW-sourced 4.4-liter V8 engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox or six-speed manual that pushes out 450 ponies. It can sprint from rest to 62 mph in under three seconds before hitting its 189 mph limit.
According to car’s chief designer and company founder Ignacio Fernández Rodriquez, the GT-21 Invictus complements the Aspid Super Sport, but is bigger and more powerful. “It has been a challenging styling exercise, but fortunately we have a really talented design team in the company. They have done an excellent job evoking the values of the company in the car,” he says in the company’s press release for the GT-21 Invictus.
It features composite body panels and a spaceframe chassis, so Aspid was able to keep it light, with the GT-21 Invictus weighing only 2,182 pounds. And to keep things safe on the road, the sports car includes stuff like adaptive airbags, stability control and anti-lock brakes. Also, the configuration of each car will be tailored to suit the precise requirements of each customer, giving them the option, to adapt the geometry and the electronics to their individual needs and personal taste. The customer may at any time request the Aspid engineering department to change the car’s geometry and electronic settings for different needs.Right now, Aspid is aiming to start building its newest model in 2014 with no word on pricing yet.
