The 13-inch Macbook Air still has our vote when it comes to the Ultrabook classification. Sure, it’s not officially an Ultrabook, but considering its power, size and all together aweseomeness we’d suggest anyone consider the machine. Unfortunately, some can’t afford a computer of that ilk. So what are some other options?
We’ll, as you’ve probably guessed, it’s a PC. That aside, Toshiba’s U840W Ultrabook is looking awfully tasty. That screen boasts a 21:9 aspect ratio, which means it’s ultra wide and ready for any Hollywood film. Unfortunately, it only measures 14.4-inches, so you might be a bit pressed to get that true cinematic experience you’ve been looking for, but we can’t knock them for trying. Unfortunately, Toshiba is mum on the processor options, but we do know you’ll be able to choose between a 256GB solid state drive or a 500GB hard drive with 32GB flash memory. So even if you opt for the latter storage option, you still be able to enjoy Toshiba’s hi-speed start technology, as well as some nimble computing. Other features include three 3.0 USB ports, an HDMI port, an all aluminum case with “soft touch trim” that measures 1-inch thin, LED backlit keyboard, and Harmon Kardon speakers with SRS premium sound 3D.
The Toshiba U840W Ultrabook will be available July 15th and will start at $999.
