E3 is just around the corner and so it’s only fitting that Sony should take the wraps off some new hardware. Today, they introduced an updated wireless headset for gamers called the Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset Elite Edition.
This wireless gaming headset boasts virtual 7.1-channel surround sound, which we saw in the last iteration, but has been updated with something Sony is calling BassImpact technology. BassImpact technology translates bass sound into pulses that can be felt around the circumference of the ear pads, which Sony hopes provides another level of immersion not yet experienced before.
Sony has also added a 3.5mm headphone jack to make it compatible with just about any product on the market, and has removed the boom mic and replaced it with a hidden active noise canceling one. They say they’ve also updated the speakers in the Elite Edition Pulse Headset to offer greater fidelity, and included a set of preset modes that will optimize your audio experience for gaming, moving watching or listening to music.
Sony’s Pulse Wireless Stereo Headset Elite Edition will be available this fall, with a glossy black finish, for $149.99.
