My Olive 4HD (purchased in 2010) ceased working and I am unable to get any response from the company for over 2 months. Does anyone know if they are still in business and supporting their products?

  2. Certainly a beautiful unit, but other than a CD drive, how is this better than a Squeezebox Touch at less than 1/3rd the price?

  3. So if I understand it well, the Olive can handle and play my music library stored on my NAS? If so, that would mean that the (external) storage capacity of the Olive can be expanded drastically

Great review. I am still unsure of the plusses of the 04 model versus the 03 model, particularily in regards to the wireless capability. What does one really gain with that capablity on a day-to-day listening experience? I believe that there is a pre-loaded list of album art and information on the 03, so I surmise there is no need to access that info in realtime. Is it just about not having to have a hard cable connection to your network? And do you really need a network connection at all?

Informative. I appreciate that you called out distinguishing features between the 03HD and the 04HD. That’s something that the Olive web site doesn’t do well.
