Necomimi Cat Ears Monitor Your Brain, Wiggle and Move When You’re Excited Like a Cat (video)
Up until this point we took all those brain controlled games with a grain of salt. First, it was the Mattel Mindflex, which apparently will work with or without a user, and then there was the Star Wars Force Trainer. But those can now both take a significant back seat to the Necomimi.
The Necomimi is effectively a headband with a pair of motorized cat ears. The whole setup is powered by NeuroSky’s tech, which if you didn’t know can monitor brain wave activity and allow folks to control things without the need of their hands. Although the technology is intended to be used in a much more complex fashion, the Necomimi is a dead simple product that without a doubt will have you intrigued.
When worn, the headband can detect up to three different types of moods, or emotional states, which is pretty much the emotional range of any feline. That said, if the wearer’s attention is piqued, the ears shoot straight up. Conversely, if they’re relaxed they droop down. And lastly, if the user is both focused and relaxed, the ears will wiggle back and forth. Fun, no?
The Necomimi ears will go on sale at Comic Con and many online retailers (hopefully starting today) for $99.95.
