M.C.Escher’s 1953 Lithograph “Relativity” in LEGO
M.C.Escher’s 1953 lithograph “Relativity” is most certainly a visual feat. But dare we say the Dutch graphic artist ain’t got nothing on Paul Vermeesch LEGO recreation.
Okay, clearly we’re kidding, but the diorama, if you wanna call it that, is an exceptional piece of art worth presentation at even the most snooty of galleries. Still not convinced of such things? Well, consider that the 1-foot by 1-foot model is fully lit from the inside. Still not good enough? Well, then consider this last feature: the model is laid out such that it presents the original Star Wars triliogy in a roughly counterclockwise format. Also, some where in the back there is a minifig-scale theatre that plays Lego’s CG version of the Star Wars saga.
