So the last few weeks, the word on the street is that Apple will update their Macbook Pro line at this year’s WWDC. Okay, no surprise there, since it’s generally the time of the year when the Cupertino company updates their computers. However, most of us have been pining for a new form factor, but if the above leaked spec sheet is any indicator of what is to come, you can kiss that dream goodbye.
To be candid, this spec sheet is for a 13-inch Macbook Pro, so it’s still viable that we’ll see a 15-inch Macbook Air. But, if we’re to use this spec sheet as a barometer to how big Apple is going this year, it’s very unlikely we’ll see a radical new design.
Listed is a 2.5Ghz Intel processor, presumably Ivy Bridge, a nice update nonetheless, but nothing drastic. Also, one of the big rumors floating around suggested that Apple would outfit their laptops with Retina displays to fall in line with the iPad and iPhone 4s, but that’s not the case here as the resolution is just 1280×800, the same as the current gen 13-inch Macbook. Nevertheless, the graphics capabilities looks to be upgraded from an Intel HD Graphics 3000 to 4000, and they’ve added USB 3.0 to the mix. And by the way, as The Verge noted, the weight has increased ever so slightly from 2.04kg to 2.06kg, which puts a further kibosh on the slimmer redesign.
As with any leak, we suggest you take it with a grain of salt. This spec sheet could be fake, even if the barcode does work.
