In the last 6 months we’ve seen a myriad of noise canceling headphones hit the market. Without review, it’s difficult to decide between one or the other. Unless of course you’re seeking a specific brand that is largely known for their desktop radios and use of natural finishes in the build. What are we talking about? Tivoli, who just announced their Radio Silenz headphones.

As you’ve probably deduced these headphones offer active noise cancellation that purportedly reduced ambient noise by as much as 85%. Needless to say they run off a single AAA battery that will last up to 50 hours, which is relatively standard for this type of ear cans. While there is no mic for taking calls, there is an inline controller for administering volume on the fly as well as a “defeat” switch that kills the noise canceling and reduces the volume enough to enable its wearer to have a conversation without removing them from their head.

Included is a carrying pouch, which accommodates Tivoli’s Radio Silenz headphones after rotating the ear cups 90 degrees in an upward direction. And let’s not forget that you can choose between 3 natural wood finishes that are adorned to the ear cups – walnut, cherry, and black ash.

The Tivoli Radio Silenz headphones will ship sometime in June and will cost $160.
