“The Amazing Spiderman” 4-minute Extended Trailer Debuts (video)
Dare we say that the jury is still out for us on “The Amazing Spiderman?” It’s actually probably not the first time we’ve said it, especially given the last few iterations of the comic book movie. That said, this 4-minute trailer is definitely swaying us in the opposite direction. No doubt the movie will be jam packed with action, though there doesn’t seem to be a chance in hell that it will be on par with C. Nolan’s Batman movies, at least visually. In our astute opinion they need to drop the brightly colored suit and craft a movie that caters to an older generation. Sure, they might alienate the most lucrative of audiences (the tweens) but the pay off would probably come in the long term. And by that we mean Blu-ray sales, merchandise and adoring fans that will continue to watch the series with the same insatiable thirst that we’ve seen with all things Dark Knight. By no means are we suggesting that the films take on an R rating, but it would be nice to see a grimness that hasn’t long been addressed in the Spiderman series.
The “Amazing Spiderman” will hit theater July 3rd.
