Record players, while long extinct from a technological standpoint, add warmth and a certain allure to just about any room they’re placed in thanks to their nostalgic association. But we can’t remember the last time we spotted one we actually wanted sitting front and center in our living room. That is until we laid eyes on the Symbol’s Modern Record Console.
Each cabinet has been individually hand crafted from solid American Walnut and sits on a 1/4” plate steel and hand patinated base. Lift the lid and you’ll revel not just in a vinyl disc player with a carbon fiber tonearm fitted with a Sumiko Blue Point #2 cartridge, but a tube amp for what surely must be warm and full sound. This is surrounded by two 6.5-inch full range speakers and a hidden second dedicated amplifier and subwoofer designed to produce subtle lows. But that’s not all. There is also a router allowing you to stream music using Apple’s Airplay tech from almost any Apple device. You know, just in case your copy of Justin Bieber hasn’t gone analog yet..
