Bang & Olufsen is now catering to the iOS crowd with some Apple friendly products. The luxury Danish home theater manufacturer included a special slot built into its BeoPlay V1 TV that connects to Apple TV without messy wires hanging out. Both 32- and 40-inch versions of the TV set will feature powerful speakers, with as many as three 32W amps in the 40-inch version being joined by discrete treble/mid speakers and a bass unit. Each version also provides 1080p and a 100Hz refresh rate, five HDMI inputs, and a USB port for music and photos. The BeoPlay V1 will cost $3,238 and $4,047 for the respective 32- and 40-inch versions.
Besides the new TV sets, Bang & Olufsen also released a new iPad speaker dock with its BeoPlay A3 that works with both the first and second generation iPads, where it keeps them in what the company calls “a stable wedge” that not only keeps the iPad comfy but adapts the speakers to get maximum output. There’s an 8-hour battery so the speakers can be completely wireless, but it won’t charge the iPad. The dock will run $727.
