  1. OpenTrackRacer

Ever hear anything more about that firmware update? 7/9 has come and gone with nothing from Sony.

  2. UPDATE 07/05/12: Sony has announce that it will introduce streaming support for MKV, AVI, MOV, Xvid and Divx files in it’s firmware update scheduled for release on 07/09/12. Great news indeed!

  3. Just bought this player in Sony shop in Hong Kong and HDMI cable was included. Just checking it and so far is GREAT!

  4. The con of no component output? Today that’s like saying they didn’t include a package of cocaine. Well, OK, they would get into less trouble with the cocaine….
    Welcome analogue sunset.

  5. this is a great player and replaces my legacy Sony 550.  The player connects seamlessly to my Pioneer amp and Panny plasma, turning everything on and switching to the Sony with a single button.  The Netflix button is a nice touch.  The picture quality on Netflix is superior to all my other players; Xbox, Apple TV, Laptop and runs without a glitch.  Haven’t used them since I hooked up the Sony.

The 3d is excellent, deep colour and almost no crosstalk.  I find it hard to believe so much has been stuffed into such a slick box.  The IPhone Sony app download works except in Netflix text?  Also the manual says I can attach a computer keyboard but my Microsoft and Logitech are not recognized.  So still need to find a text input instead of the small remote.  (a mute key is absent as well)

    Great deal
