The years of the Dodge Viper are long gone, but reign of the SRT Viper has just began…and it’s looking mighty fierce! Officially unveiled at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the 2013SRT Viper churns out a whopping 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to its a front/mid-mounted 8.4-liter V10. Two models will soon be hitting the market, the standard high-performance SRT and GTS that will feature more up-to-date technology.

The 2013 Viper features some chassis updates that include a beautiful X-brace in the front that boasts a 50-percent increase in rigidity over the last model, while stability and traction control help drivers maintain control of the beast. It’s also been outfitted with specially designed Pirelli P Zero Z-rated tires, sized 355 out back and 295 up front. Buyers will have the option of three different wheel packages, including with five or six spokes in polished, matte black or gloss black finishes, along with a special lightweight set as part of the SRT Track Package. The interior is also more luxurious than before thanks to seats form Sabelt, a seven-inch LCD screen directly in front of the driver, Chrysler’s 8.4-inch Uconnect Media Center and a Harmon Kardon sound system. SRT also plans to make a statement on the race track with the 2013 Viper and will return its model to the American Le Mans Series this year.
