LEGOs – child’s play. Unless of course you’re talking about the Ultimate Collector series. These sets often incorporate a vast number of pieces, a display plaque, an exuberant cost over the traditional toys and needless to say, excessive detail.
Finally taking shape, though it won’t hit stores until May of this year, is the never before seen 10225 R2-D2 LEGO Set. Info about the detailed build slipped out early on YouTube, and while the video was supposedly removed it’s now back in high rez glory. What we do know is that that this LEGO R2 will stand 12-inches high and 7-inches wide. Like the original droid, this one will feature a retractable third leg that can be activated with the flip of a switched, locked into place and then allow him to roll forward. The two designers, Mike and Kurt, have also managed to included the universal computer interface arm, which if you remember saved Luke and Hans from impending death in the crash compactor, as well as his hand circular saw, a 360-degree rotating head and 2 fold-out front spacecraft linkage control arms.
The 2,127 piece LEGO R2D2 set will cost $179.99 when it goes on sale later this year.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
