Blue Tiger iPad Pressure Sensitive Stylus (video)

The iPen by all accounts is a stunningly awesome product for anyone looking to draw, write or doodle on their iPad, and that’s putting aside that its really a rebranded version of Apen’s A5 pen.  That said, both of those products require a small dongle that plugs into the iPad’s 30-pin dock and uses a combination of of infrared and ultrasonic technology to improve accuracy.  Lose the dongle and you’re SOL.

The Blue Tiger Stylus requires no dongle and instead will connect with iPad 3 using Bluetooth 4.0.  Sure, until Wednesday of this week we won’t know what version of Bluetooth the iPad 3 will ship with, but apparently Ten One Design has the inside scoop.  Supposedly, Bluetooth 4.0 supports the CoreBluetooth framework in iOS5, which means that Apple’s tablet will seamlessly works in tandem with pressure sensitive peripherals, such as the Blue Tiger Stylus.  Couple this with palm rejection tech and your experience will hopefully be something analogous to brush and canvas; press harder for a thicker line or less for a thinner ones (without “smear”).  And because you can’t look at your brush to see what color you’ve selected from your palette, Ten One Design has fitted the Blue Tiger Stylus with an LED light that emits your selected color choice.

Right now Ten One Design hasn’t said when it will ship or for how much, but if we had to guess that info will emerge after March 7th.
