Sony Cyber-shot TX20 Camera

Who else, aside from us, has had their fill with camera announcements? Pardon the cliche, but they’re a dime a dozen these days. And tossing another one onto the pile is Sony, who yesterday announced 4 new cameras, 2 of which sport an ultra slim body. That said, we’re not going to tell you about those and instead direct you to the TX20, an ultra rugged point and shoot.
The Cyber-shot TX20 is capable of capturing 16 megapixel photos at up to 10fps, which can be reviewed on the cameras 3-inch 921k dot LCD. Sony has included their “Optical zoom plus Clear image zoom” which makes digital zoom useful, though we have yet to see it in person. Background defocus much like the pros is an option, antiblink feature, face detect, picture effects, 3D still image, 4x optical zoom, optical steady shot and 1080 video are all part of the package. In our opinion, though, the real gold is in the TX20′s ability to swim to a depth of 16ft, survive the sandiest of beaches and survive a fall from up to 5ft.
The Cyber-shot TX20 will go on sale this May for $330 in orange, green, black, blue and pink.
