Washing clothing is about as exciting as watching paint dry. And folding it after the dryer has completed its cycle is an exercise in masochism. But alas, clean clothes is a must, unless of course you married or have given up on life all together.
Samsung’s F457 is a washer like no other. Packed deep beneath the front loading machine is WiFi allowing you to monitor the machine’s washing cycle (remaining time, finishing alerts, as well as remotely start or pause the washer) with a smartphone and all but ensure you don’t frustrate your roommate by leaving your clothing a soggy mess for them to find hours later. It also boasts seven speciality cycles, PowerFoam technology that Samsung says destroys stains as if they were evil itself, vibration reduction technology and an 8-inch LCD touchscreen that unfortunately won’t access the net or wash your mind of those dirty pics you viewed the night before.
Some other notable features include the industry’s largest capacity (31 bath towels), a steam cycle for wrinkle reduction (also available in the dryer) and a smart vent tech that lets you know when its clogged (as in about to start a fire).
No word on a price or a launch date, but expect it soon.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
