Here’s a new one from Belkin, known for making a lot of home networking equipment they have come up with an affordable way to save some additional energy at home. Now at Amazon for just $8 you can grab this small energy conserving power socket. The premise is simple, and based upon the fact that devices plugged in draw power even when off. Plug this in on the top plug of any outlet (It does not obstruct the bottom either which is a bonus) and plug in something underneath like a microwave, fan or other device you would use only for a limited time and then set the timer (30 minutes, 3 hours or 6 hours). After the time expires that outlet will shut off, thus cutting the additional power draw from your unused electronic device. A definite useful device, even for the cold season which includes the use of many space heaters.
$7.99. Get your cart to $25 and you’ll qualify for free shipping, unless you’re an Amazon Prime member, then it ships for free!
