Ubisoft today announced that Assassin’s Creed 3, yes the 3rd installment (not the 3rd game by any account), will release on October 30th (…just in time for Halloween?).

According to Ubisoft, the game has been in development for 3 years now, which is astounding considering the last one, “Revelations”, was released just last year.  Sales figures for the “3rd game” are expected to exceed 7 million, which is above and beyond the last iteration.  Joystiq thinks this version might appear on the new Wii, which most certainly would be interesting especially if they some how integrated the secondary screen into the mix.

Unfortunately, we don’t know any more than that.  Video games aren’t our mainstay by any account, but AC has been a massive title and while it didn’t exactly pioneer a new game play style, it most certainly has been an impressive series.  That said, will this be the last Assassins Creed game?
