We all know someone who is obsessed with making sure they’re completely and utterly prepared for world war, nuclear bomb drops, zombie infestations or whatever. Paranoia happens. Sometime’s it’s justified, and, well, most of the time it isn’t. But in the case of having a working phone anywhere, today’s smartphones don’t cut it. With less than a day charge you don’t want to rely on that iPhone for 3-4 days at a time. That’s what the SpareOne is for.
SpareOne is a small dumbphone that has two functions: to make calls, and to last forever if you aren’t on the phone. Powered by a single AA battery, it can last up to 15 years on a single battery, which is mind boggling in itself. It provides ten hours of talk time, but if there’s an emergency or if you need to travel around the world and just need a phone for calls, the SpareOne sounds like an excellent phone to keep in the kitchen drawer by the flashlights. And for $50, it’s not a bad deal either.
For the record, the ten hour talk time and 15-year lifespan is with an Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA battery, which is the most expensive and longest lasting AA battery on the market today.
