Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."

  1. For bar scotch this looks cool. And you are correct that even the best malt is opened up by a spash of water. However, if you must cool your good scotch (a bit like cooling your good claret, IMHO), it’s better to use a different gadget – inert cubes (often branded with some varient of “rocks”) which can be frozen and then added to your scotch and water. The problem with actual ice is that the scotch becomes increasingly diluted. Now for bourbon, the ice balls would be fine.
