Cool App alert! iPhone photographers and wannabes will want to download the Mattebox Camera App by Ben Syverson, which is the only one out there that immediately displays ISO, shutter speed and focal distance. Labeled as the “Photographer’s mobile camera,” the app sells for $3.99. However, it be warned that it doesn’t allow you to manually control ISO, shutter speed and focal distance (it’s impossible), but it does allow indirect control via its locking system. With outstanding reviews, the app features a variety of cool functions, including one-touch white balance; six image adjustments that are built-in; 32-bit per channel, linear light rendering, for photographically accurate results; dual-stage shutter release for a built-in exposure and focus lock; and its exposure adjustment features automatic highlight recovery.
The Mattebox app also has a fantastic viewfinder with unobtrusive brightlines and its images render really fast, even at full resolution. Features that will be included soon include sharing via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Dropbox and more; real-time image adjustment in the viewfinder; and help bubbles.
