How’d you like to stuff a tripod in your pocket? Dirty innuendos aside, you now can.
This handy, pocket sized device is called the Steadepod (as in steady pod). You simply attach it to your camera using the standard tripod mount. Once in place you extend the cord to the ground, where upon you step on the foot hold and raise the camera to your face for capturing that long exposure. The built-in tension from the cord acts as a sort of tripod and steadies your shot. You can even lock in the length, though we’re not sure if it can accommodate a 7-foot person, but since Photojojo says that “ you can adjust the Pocket Pod to any height,” we don’t see why not.
For your amusement, you should know that it’s a tenth of the size of a normal tripod and costs just $24.
