Lug a camera around with you and there will always be a moment when you wished that you had a tripod to setup that perfect group shot. Sounds like a bit of a commercial pitch, but it’s the truth and right now you should be nodding your head.
Last week, Joby unveiled two new tripods designed to be carried any where you and your camera go without weighing you down or filling up your bag. The GorillaPod Micro 250 and GorillaPod Micro 800 are effectively the same product, yet the 800 is designed to support a camera up to 800g in weight, while the 250 supports cameras 250 grams in weight.
Joby says that these tripods are so small that they’ll fit in just about any pocket, but we’re gonna go a step further and suggest you can leave it attached to the base of your camera and still go about your way capturing your vacation photos and night out on the town. Both tripods are made from aluminum and zinc alloy, which means they should be light weight yet durable and a set of colorful rubber grips provide added stability. Lastly, a machined aluminum positioning ball will allow you to capture photos within a 36 degrees range.
The Joby GorillaPod Micro 250 and 800 are available now from Amazon for $19.95 and $29.95 respectively.
