Dyson has done a stellar job of turning the vacuum, often regarded as a boring old home appliance, on its head by sexing it up with designs that no other company has had the cojones to attempt. But the vacuum world wasn’t enough, so they launched a line of bladeless fans that blast cool air in a unidirectional manner without utilizing a traditional design. And now that winter is upon us, at least for the Northern Hemisphere, they’re releasing a version that fires out the heat.
The Dyson Hot – the name leaves something to be desired – draws its design from their fan system, but adds a heating element some where in the mix. While the design is most certainly a head turner, especially for a space heater, safety should be the selling point. Take a close look and you’ll notice that there is not exposed heating element. That means kids should have a hard time burning themselves if they grab the device, and if it gets knocked over the chances of the drapes catching aflame should be seriously mitigated.
However, all this comes at a price of $400. Is this the world’s most expensive space heater?
