Say hello to Batman’s newest Batmobile. Three versions of the new “Tumbler” were photographed (and videod) driving down a Pittsburgh street over the weekend. The vehicles will be used in the third installment of the latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises”, directed and partially written by Christopher Nolan.
According to Jalopnik each Tumbler sports a 500HP V8 under its hood and by the sounds of the below video we’d have to agree. You’ve probably already made note of the fact that the vehicles are finished in a desert camouflage, which begs the question of where some of the scenes in the next Batman movie will take place? The last two movies called for a black Tumbler, which ironically enough camouflaged the vehicle under Gotham’s night sky. We’re also left wondering if this version will include some tricks up it’s sleeve, such as the ability to convert into a motorcycle in the event the Tumbler becomes to damaged.
But as cool as the Dark Knight’s latest vehicle looks, we’re still not as impressed when compared to that custom built Batmobile with an integrated iPad.
