It’s odd. We tend to through the old out to make way for the new. But then the new gets old and we find ourselves wandering back to where we started. While this can often be said in terms of relationship, the same can be stated for clothing and sometimes, sometimes technology.
The Retro CRT iPad Dock designed by Jonas Damon, resembles an 80s – heck it could even be early 90s – TV set. It’s pretty representative of the above statement. It’s made from wood, which surely adds some warmth to the all metal and glass iPad. And it’s even replete with that protruding, elongated back that housed the tube, which pretty much made TV possible before LED, LCDs and Plasmas came along.
As it happens, we’ve actually featured Damon’s work before. If you recall, which you probably don’t, we posted on his Wooden Alarm Clock that simply holds your iPhone in landscape mode. But despite it’s simplicity, and lacking all things tech, we still loved it. And yes, we love this.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
